Jean-Claude Hard At Work

You may be wondering what my hubby does all day while I am at work!  Firstly, he takes care of all the daily living tasks:  buys food at the market (fresh produce) and the supermarket (cans), makes sure we always have 2 twenty-litre bottles of drinking water, cooks delicious meals, does the laundry and the banking (all of these are very time-consuming tasks!) --- This makes my life so much easier.  MERCI!

But he has become obsessed!  Take a look at the photos below.  The first is a view from our front door where an old sofa is there for us to sit on.  But Jean-Claude wants a place in the breeze with a view of the sky, the palm trees and the birds.  So he has undertaken the very physically demanding task of cleaning up a piece of the backyard.   Janet, our landlady, has promised over & over to get people to clean it up.  Basically she and her deceased husband just tore down an old building in the back, now overgrown with vegetation and used as a dumping ground for our neighbor's garbage.  Jean-Claude has shovelled out loads of sand, collected metal for resale, picked up garbage, wood, metal sheets, etc. etc.  All this in 40degree weather.  But with the purchase of two "garden" chairs, we can now sit beside the house and have a "view".  He's not finished yet - stay tuned!
